1990 Highlands 30 Year Old Single Cask Secret Series No. 1 (Clynelish)

Notes from the producer:
Floral notes coupled with a strong brine dominate the fragrance which some commentators also liken to dark chocolate or mahogany. The palate of flavours is decidedly muscular; waxy being an oft-used description. There is a biscuity element with a strong backdrop of candied ginger, prunes and a further sea-borne tang. The long finish is perhaps surprisingly cool, with a suggestion of menthol and liquorice.

The producer has helpfully provided the GPS coordinates of the distillery at 58.0245° N, 3.8661° W.

Since Brora itself was closed in 1990, we can therefore deduce that this is a Clynelish.

Matured for the full term in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask and bottled at cask strength.

A limited edition of 325 bottles released in 2021.
