1959 Glenlivet Specially Selected (bottled 1980s)

A fascinating rarity from The Glenlivet and without doubt one of the oldest single vintages bottled by the distillery under its previous owners - Canadian drinks giant Seagram. Originally released onto the market in the 1980s when the entire Scotch Whisky industry was suffering from oversupply, patently because it was seen as an unfashionable drink at the time in favour of Cognac.

In 2000 the distillery was acquired by current owners Pernod Ricard and since then there have been a handful of vintage bottlings under the contemporary Glenlivet ‘Cellar Collection’ series which this bottle pre-dates.

Overall a fabulous collectors piece for fans of the distillery or a cracking one-off gift or memento for anyone with a special affinity for that year.

Presented in a solid oak cabinet and in excellent condition for its age.
