1977 Macallan 40 Year Old Single Cask Douglas Laing XOP

From the producer:
Fresh and sweetly spiced on the nose, with candied ginger and polished oak. The palate is smooth with a candied lemon zest character and ripe banana, with a medium-long finish that shows lingering citrus fruit and honey.

Douglas Laing was founded in 1948 as an independent bottler and remains a family business to this day. The family's finest and rarest whisky barrels are reserved for their Xtra Old Particular (XOP) series. They are bottled with connoisseurs in mind - undiluted, uncoloured and un-chill filtered in order to present the whisky in its most natural form. In other words, straight from the barrel to bottle with no funny business.

Each bottle is hand numbered and presented in a solid wood cabinet with a certificate signed by the MD of the independent bottler, Mr Fred Laing.

Originally released in 2017.
